Portland-based attorney Kelly Clark is a leading child sexual abuse litigator with more than two decades of experience in the constitutional and public Law fields. Focusing on abuse stemming from “Institutions of Trust” (organizations that give individuals the presumption of safety), Kelly Clark has successfully brought cases against the Roman Catholic Church, the Mormon Church, and the Boy Scouts of America.
In addition to his crusading efforts in child sex abuse litigation, Kelly Clark advocated for children’s rights issues extensively during his four-year tenure in the Oregon State Legislature. Elected to the position of State Representative in 1989, Kelly Clark accomplished a number of important measures during his term, including co-authoring the Oregon Child Abuse Statute of Limitations and the Oregon Ban on Possession of Child Pornography. Kelly Clark continues to be active in Oregon politics working with organizatins dedicated to helping skilled young professionals transition into politics.
Beyond his impressive work inside the courtroom, Mr. Kelly Clark has made an impact in his community as well. In the past, Mr. Clark has served as the Chairman of Oregon State Bar’s Lawyers’ Assistance Committee, a member of the Steering Committee for Young Life - Portland South and Board of Directors of William Temple House. Kelly Clark has also contributed extensively to his community through pro bono work, including service as Legal Counsel to the North Portland Nurse Practitioner Community Health Clinic, an organization that provides healthcare to uninsured children.
Kelly Clark earned his Juris Doctorate from Lewis and Clark Law School. Prior to enrolling in law school, Kelly Clark earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Lewis and Clark College. Kelly Clark is currently in pursuit of his Master’s degree in Theology from the Melbourne College of Divinity.
